As of this writing, the Vintage Cube schedule on Magic Online has a league running now, from October 7 until the November 4, 2026 downtime, per the October 13, 2026 weekly announcements. Beyond that, the next run has not been announced. In 2026 the pattern has been one Vintage Cube league per major set release, each lasting about four weeks, with a single-elimination queue available in between.
This article lists every 2026 run we could confirm from mtgo.com posts, explains how to read the schedule, and tells you what we could not confirm. We have not guessed at any date.

The March run ended April 1. No Vintage Cube league ran in April; the next one began May 6.
Three MOCS Showcase events in 2026 featured Vintage Cube: one the weekend before January 13 (per the January 13 announcements), June 7 (per the May 1 post) and September 20 (per the September 8 post), which is why the May and August leagues were described as supporting the Showcase broadcasts. The Hobbit league was extended a fifth week to cover it.
How does the Vintage Cube season work now?
The old rhythm, documented on the MTG Wiki, was a December holiday run and a summer run, with an occasional spring window. That is no longer how it works. The 2026 pattern is:
- A new set releases on MTGO. Lorwyn Eclipsed, TMNT, Secrets of Strixhaven, Marvel Super Heroes, The Hobbit, Reality Fracture.
- About five days before, the curator posts an update article. Swap list, reasons, go-live date.
- The league runs about four weeks, ending at the next scheduled downtime.
- Gap weeks get a Vintage Supreme Draft, a themed cube, or nothing but the single-elimination queue.
Because each league is tied to a set, the simplest way to predict the next Vintage Cube is to watch for the next MTGO set release. In 2026 each league began between one day and about two weeks after one, with the update article about five days before the league. We are not going to name that date here because no post has, and release calendars move.

What does Vintage Cube cost on MTGO?
Every 2026 post we checked lists the same entry: 10 Event Tickets or 100 Play Points for a league course. The $27 Vintage Cube Bundle has appeared with each 2026 league, with three draft tokens and one or two set-themed avatars (The Incredible Hulk in July, Gandalf and Smaug in August, Jace, Reality Sculptor in October). Tokens expire at the downtime that ends the league.
The July 21 post also noted that players with 12 or more leftover MOCS Season 2 Qualifier Points could use them for free single-elimination entries during the last week of that run. Watch for similar notes at the end of each league.
Leagues are Phantom, so you keep nothing you draft. That is the trade for drafting Black Lotus for 10 tickets.
Is Legacy Cube still on MTGO?
We could not confirm a Legacy Cube run in 2025 or 2026. None of the 2026 weekly announcements we read mention it, and the most recent dated run we found in press coverage was a two-week league starting August 25, 2021, per Star City Games. The alternative cubes that do appear in recent posts are the Vintage Supreme Draft, a Halloween Cube, a Creator Cube and a CubeCon Cube (all listed for October and November 2025 in the September 26, 2025 post), and the Supreme Innistrad Remastered Draft this month.
If you want the Legacy Cube’s design philosophy without waiting for a run, our piece on cube power levels explains where it sits relative to Vintage.
How do you find out when the next Vintage Cube starts?
Three sources, in order of reliability:
- The weekly announcements on mtgo.com, posted Tuesdays. Each one has an events section listing current and upcoming cubes with dates. The October 20 post is the current one.
- The Vintage Cube card list page at mtgo.com/vintage-cube-cardlist. Its header shows the effective date of the current list and changes when a new update is staged.
- The curator’s update article, which appears about five days before each league. Our guide to how the updates work explains what to read in it.
